United Way of Broward County, along with community volunteers who are experts in their fields, identify specific gaps in services and then seek partners and funds to develop programs delivering measurable results. Through a collaborative approach, the best people, ideas, talents and resources are brought together to tackle complex challenges head on and create long-lasting positive changes in Broward County.
Our goal was to drive awareness to the many ways in which the United Way of Broward County provides support services to many people in need. As an umbrella organization that supports and cooperates with other non-profits, United Way, while a familiar name, turned to Boardroom to increase the awareness of how it impacts the community. To this end, we focused on several aspects:
The new CEO, Kathleen Cannon is a dynamic woman and has become the face of UWBC. BoardroomPR generated several articles on her, including a Q and A in the Sun-Sentinel, and letters to the editor. BoardroomPR has also worked on activities, galas and events for United Way. It is a crowded nonprofit marketplace, but we have worked strategically to generate familiarity with the fundraisers for the organization and to provide visibility to the dedicated volunteers who make them happen. We worked to get United Way included in various stories, articles and photos to keep the organization top of mind.
