Google has recently debuted a new feature giving individuals and organizations a platform for communicating with the wider public.

By posting through “Google my Business,” you’re able to publish your events, products, and services directly to Google search and Maps. Once your post is published, it will appear to customers on google search and maps. It also gives you the tools to update your listing and engage with customers from your phone, tablet and computer — ALL FOR FREE!

Google says this gives businesses the ability to share daily specials or current promotions that encourage new, returning, and existing customers to take advantage of your offers; promote events and tell customers about upcoming happenings; and, showcase your top products and highlight new arrivals. In addition, businesses can choose one of the available options to connect with your customers directly from your google listing: give them a one-time click path to make a reservation, subscribe to a newsletter, learn about the latest offers, or even buy a specific product from your website.

As for the results /reviews? Turn snapshots  → sales. For example, draw in new customers with photos of your products or favorite weekly menu items – pictures give a visual image and show what’s actually unique about your business / product. It helps build brand and customer loyalty by starting a conversation. Plus, reviews are huge and now a two-way conversation between you and your customers – be the first to know when you get a new review so you can respond right away. And, lastly, make sure you keep your posts up to date because Google is monitoring and posts are removed after 7 days – consistently update your pages!
