November 6, 2024
FT. LAUDERDALE, FL and NEW YORK, NY – Top real estate executives from South Florida and New York City will come together on November 14th, 2024, for the 10th Annual Covenant House Real Estate Executive Sleep Out. This impactful event gathers industry leaders for an overnight solidarity effort to raise critical funds and awareness for youth facing homelessness. Over the past decade, the Sleep Out has raised more than $3 million, supporting Covenant House’s mission to provide shelter, food, and essential services to vulnerable young people.
The South Florida Sleep Out will take place at Covenant House Florida, located at 33 Breakers Avenue #4100, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, starting at 8:45 pm. It will bring together prominent real estate firms, including Atlas Real Estate Partners, Related, Torose Equities, Starwood, Rialto, Banyan Street, Andover Real Estate Partners, One Real Estate, Amli, Berkadia, Newmark, Greystone, and more.
The New York Sleep Out will begin at 8:35 pm at Covenant House New York, located at 460 W. 41st Street (near 10th Avenue), New York, NY 10036, with participation from leading companies like Atlas Real Estate Partners, Acore Capital, Oxford Properties, Kensington Vanguard, SL Green, Madison Realty Capital, Rockwood Capital, Rialto Capital, RIPCO, Eagle Rock Advisors, Lincoln Property Company, and Canyon.
Originally founded by Arvind Chary, Matt Schmeelk, and Scott Sherman, the Sleep Out has become one of the most significant philanthropic efforts in the industry. By spending one night outdoors, participants symbolically underscore their commitment to ensuring at-risk youth have access to the resources they need to overcome homelessness.
“The Real Estate Executive Sleep Out is a movement that brings our industry together for a cause we deeply believe in,” said Chary, who helped launch the event a decade ago. “What started in New York has expanded to South Florida, and I’m proud that, as an industry, we’ve come together to make a real impact. This year marks an important milestone, and we hope to continue this momentum in the years to come.”
Funds raised through the Sleep Out provide young people with the resources they need to rebuild their lives — safe shelter, education, job training, and stable housing. Covenant House operates in 34 cities across the United States, Latin America, and Canada, helping thousands of youth overcome homelessness every year.
