The start of a new year inspires us to tackle new goals and resolve to meet new challenges. It’s also a great time to refresh your personal marketing strategy. As a top Florida public relations agency, we understand that everyone is busy, so we’ve narrowed it down to these eight essential tips to help set you up for PR success in 2025. In part one, we shared our first four internal PR and marketing priorities to tackle before the new year. Now, let’s dive into external components.

1. Identify Content Ideas

You are an expert in your field and others want to hear what you have to say. Think about industry trends that you anticipate in your field or things that have happened over the past few months that may change. If you had a recent success or overcame a challenging issue, perhaps it’s a good topic for a case study. Or maybe your company is celebrating a milestone this year. Take some time to think about content to share.

2. Write a Blog Post or Article

Once you’re armed with your list of content ideas, why not write a short article or blog post? Editors and reporters are often interested in trend pieces and there are several industry trade journals that accept contributed articles. You can also be your own publisher by posting content on your company website or your LinkedIn page.

3. Analyze Your Social Media Engagement

Look back at your past posts and see what content worked and what could be improved. What types of posts did your audience engage with the most? If your company has a social media team they will most likely be tracking analytics. If you don’t, then you can still look at your recent posts to see how many people liked or commented on different topics. It’s worth the time to see what your followers liked most and what you can do differently next year.

4. Review Annual Award Opportunities

The beginning of the year is also a great time to make a list of the awards you’d like to pursue for yourself and your business and make note of the deadlines. Getting a head start will provide time to refine your submission and avoid rushing at the last minute. There are numerous awards from best places to work, to top lawyers and best real estate deals of the year. Start a list of the annual awards you’d like to pursue, and you can continue to add to it each year.
