BoardroomPR’s diverse client roster was well-represented at Commercial Observer’s annual South Florida Multifamily & Mixed-Use Forum on March 7 at Paramount Miami Worldcenter in downtown Miami. The all-day event attracted several hundred attendees, with some of the region’s top developers, investors, lenders and brokers sharing insights on current challenges and opportunities.

The forum’s speaker line-up included longtime BoardroomPR commercial real estate PRhospitality industry PR, and residential real estate developer clients: Tricera Capital’s CEO Ben Mandell, Rentyl Resorts Founder and CEO Nick Falcone and Newgard Development Group CEO Harvey Hernandez. Mandell and Falcone participated in the “Hospitality & Retail: What Disruption and Innovation is Impacting the Market?” discussion, while Hernandez spoke on the “Challenges and Opportunities in Luxury Multifamily Development in South Florida” panel.

Both discussions were candid, entertaining and informative. Mandell acknowledged that certain retail owners who purchased at the peak of the market during the pandemic are now on the verge of distress, which in turn will lead to strong acquisition opportunities for investors who are long on South Florida.

“If you buy at the right basis, you wake up in five years in the right location; Miami retail should trade right,” Mandell said.

Hernandez addressed how large-scale residential development is more expensive now and takes longer from the planning to completion stages. That means developers like Newgard must be creative, selective on what development sites to pursue, and carefully curate projects with exciting concepts. BoardroomPR provides public relations and social media services for Newgard’s LOFTY Brickell and Natiivo Fort Lauderdale developments.

BoardroomPR’s publicists and social media experts make sure to attend important real estate conferences in South Florida and beyond. That enables team members to stay ahead of the curve on relevant industry trends, topics and issues.
