BoardroomPR is proud to celebrate its real estate development client Metropica, the 50-acre master-planned development in Sunrise, on winning Best Speculative Project at the South Florida Business Journal’s 2026 Structures Awards in September 2026. The annual award is given to a project that began construction within the past year, and Metropica’s selection recognizes the scale and ambition of a development that is reshaping the western Broward County landscape. Now in its 11th year, the Structures Awards is one of the most prestigious honors in South Florida’s real estate industry.

Metropica is creating a true mixed-use destination between Sawgrass Mills and Amerant Bank Arena, with an approved plan that includes 3,300 residential units, 650,000 square feet of office space, 485,000 square feet of retail space and two hotels. The development represents an investment of more than $1.5 billion and is now moving from years of planning into active, sustained construction as its second phase gets underway.

Metropica’s impact extends well beyond its own boundaries. In March 2025, Metropica Development donated 19 acres to the Florida Turnpike Authority to support a planned full-access interchange at Pat Salerno Drive and the Sawgrass Expressway. Once complete, the interchange is expected to improve access to the development, ease congestion near Amerant Bank Arena and support other projects planned nearby. That kind of regional thinking is part of what sets Metropica apart, and it is exactly the type of story that resonates with award judges, media and the broader business community.

This honor is a shining example of the strategic public relations and social media work BoardroomPR provides for Metropica as part of a full-service communications program. Securing industry awards and recognitions is a core piece of that strategy, helping to build credibility, generate third-party validation and keep Metropica top of mind among real estate developers, brokers and civic leaders across South Florida. BoardroomPR has also arranged multiple speaking engagements at real estate conferences for Metropica’s principals, positioning them as authoritative voices on development trends and growth in western Broward County.

Among the highlights of that effort was a panel event held in June 2026 at the Metropica site, curated by BoardroomPR and hosted by the Urban Land Institute (ULI). Two Metropica principals joined the panel to discuss the project and the broader trajectory of growth in western Broward County, sharing insights with an audience of industry peers and stakeholders at the very location where that growth is taking shape. Combined with earned media placements, speaking opportunities and the Structures Award win, this coordinated communications strategy elevatesthe client’s profile and credibility in South Florida real estate.

BoardroomPR congratulates the entire Metropica team on this well-earned recognition and looks forward to continuing to tell the story of one of South Florida’s most transformative developments as it progresses.
